Patroness and Patron

As a group of Catholic men, we place ourselves under the patronage of Our Lady of Victory and her blessed spouse St. Joseph.

Our Lady of Victory, victorious over all enemies, pray for us.
St. Joseph, protector of the Church, pray for us.

The mission of the Guild is to give men the opportunity to strengthen their relationship with Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Bride the Catholic Church, and for men be strengthened in their ability to defend the Church and re-evangelize our culture.

We hope to fulfill our mission by hosting monthly Catholic Men’s Nights. (See Upcoming Events for more information!) Each of these events will offer Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Confession, Holy Mass, and a presentation on topics relevant to men and Catholicism.  We hope that these events will help us develop a network of faithful men in the Calgary area who are fellow workers in the vineyard of Our Lord. (Matthew 20:1-16)

About Us

The men who help to organize the Guild take seriously the words of the holy Bishop Athanasius Schneider from an interview titled, ‘Battling the New Gnosticism’ in which he makes this practical suggestion: “We must create groups of true Catholics, scholars, families, and clergy who will spread courageously the full Catholic truth, especially on the Church’s teachings on the family, on nature, and the commandments of God.”  Regarding our canonical standing (Canon 215), we are an association of laymen, with Diocesan approval, who have come together to live out the Second Vatican Council’s (Apostolicam Actuositatem) call for the authentic apostolate of the laity; that is, bringing Jesus Christ into our homes, workplaces and the social sphere.  We are based in the Diocese of Calgary, and are blessed to have Sacred Heart Parish (Strathmore) as our titular home base.  We are under the spiritual guidance of our chaplain, the pastor of Sacred Heart, and other excellent priests in the Diocese.
